Oat Milk (Quick & Easy)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3-5 cups water (use less water if you want creamier milk)
  • 1 pinch salt

Optional

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 whole pitted date
  • 1 tsp vanilla or caramel extract

Instructions

  • Place the oats, water, salt, and any optional ingredients into a blender. Blend for about 30 seconds - 1 minute or until the mixture seems well combined but remember, over-blending can make the oat milk slimy in texture.
  • Pour the mixture over a very fine towel or nut milk bag and into a pitcher. In my experience, it benefits from a double strain to catch any stubborn oat bits that refused to blend.
  • Transfer into a sealed container and refrigerate.
