Crispy pan fried tofu

Ingredients

  • 280 g tofu
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Cut the tofu into small cubes and place in a medium mixing bowl. Season with all the spices, pour over the soya sauce and mix until all pieces are coated evenly.
  • Heat a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the oil and the seasoned tofu. Sauté for around 5-10 minutes, flipping occasionally to cook on all sides, until tofu has a golden crust on each side.
  • Remove from the heat and add to virtually any dish you like! Fried tofu is best when fresh, but can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
